New Mexico Campgrounds

Our campgrounds in New Mexico are located in the Sacramento Mountains on the Lincoln National Forest.  Elevations vary from 4600 to over 9000 feet in the area.  We are just a few miles from Alamogordo and White Sands and a few hours from Albuquerque and Santa Fe

  

Silver Campground

Silver Campground New Mexico

Silver Campground is located 2 miles NE of Cloudcroft on SH 244.  All paved roads to and through campgrounds. Elevation is 9000 feet. 30 family units spaced closely together provide tables, fire rings, parking spurs, toilets, drinking water, central garbage depository, plus interpretive trails.  There is a trailer length limit of 32 feet.  Handicapped sites and restroom available.

Silver Overflow Campground

Silver Overflow Campground New Mexico

Silver Overflow is located 2 miles NE of Cloudcroft on SH 244. It is completely paved.  Elevation is 9000 feet.  52 trailer spaces are available with no length limit.  Has RV dump station, showers, firewood, amphitheater (with Saturday night campfire programs).  Handicapped restroom and shower available.

Saddle Campground

Saddle Campground New Mexico

Saddle Campground is located 2 miles NE of Cloudcroft on SH 244.  All paved roads to and through campgrounds. Elevation is 9000 feet. 17 family units spaced closely together provide tables, fire rings, parking spurs, toilets, drinking water, central garbage depository, and interpretive trails.  There is a trailer length limit of 35 feet.  Handicapped sites and restrooms available.

Apache Campground

Apache Campground is located 2 miles NE of Cloudcrofton SH 244.  All paved roads to and through campground. Elevation is 8900 feet. 25 family units spaced further apart provide tables, fire rings, parking spurs, toilets, drinking water, central garbage depository, and interpretive trails.  There is a trailer length limit of 35 feet.  Handicapped sites and restrooms available

Pines Campground

Pines Campground is located 1 mile NE of Cloudcroft on SH 244. Interior roads are gravel. Elevation is 8800 feet. 44 family units.  Good for tent camping. Parking for motorized camping is available but limited.  Tables, fire rings, toilets, drinking water, garbage depositories are available.  There is a trailer length limit of 35 feet

Deerhead Campground

Deerhead Campground New Mexico

Deerhead Campground is located on SH 130,  2 miles south of the village.  Interior roads are gravel.  Elevation is 8700 feet. 34 family unit.  Steep access, sharp turns and limited parking prohibit use of camping trailers.  Tables, fire rings, toilets, drinking water, and garbage depositories are provided.

Sleepy Grass Campground

Sleepy Grass Campground New Mexico

Sleepy Grass Campground is located off SH 130, 3 miles south of the village.  Veer left onto FR24B.  Interior roads are gravel. Elevation is 8800 feet. 45 family units. Trail for the visually handicapped at west entrance of campground. Boy Scout camp adjacent.  Tables, fire rings, toilets, drinking water, and garbage depositories are provided.  There is a trailer length limit of 35 feet.

Upper Fir Group Campground

Upper Fir Group Campground

Upper Fir Campground is located about 3/4 miles north of US highway 82 on New Mexico 244. Paved interior roads with paved RV parking pads. Elevation is 8800 feet. Large covered pavilion, 200-person capacity. 12 tables, one large fire ring with benches around it, toilet, two large barbeques, drinking water hydrant, and garbage depositories are provided. Trailer length limit is 35 feet.

Lower Fir Group Campground

Lower Fir Group Campground New Mexico

Lower Fir Campground is located about 3/4 miles north of US highway 82 on New Mexico 244. Paved interior roads. Elevation is 8800 feet.   It has a 200-person capacity, a covered pavilion, 8 tables, a large fire ring surrounded by benches, toilet, drinking water hydrant, two large barbeques, and garbage depositories are provided. Trailer length limit is 35 feet..

Slide Group Campground

Slide Group Campground New Mexico

Slide Campground is located 3 miles south of Cloudcroft via SH 130 to FR 6563, turn west and go around the bend. Interior roads are gravel. Elevation is 8700 feet. 100-person capacity, (parking limited to approximately 12 trailers or 50 automobiles).  The site has a covered pavilion with 10 tables, 2 fire rings, toilet, large barbeque and garbage depositories.  Water is available at nearby Deerhead campground.

Aspen Campground is located 2.5 miles south of Cloudcroft off SH 130. Veer left onto FR 24B. Elevation is 8700 ft.

 

5 acres to play in.  Has tables, 2 fire rings and 2 barbecues.  Water is available at nearby Deerhead campground

Black Bear Group Campground

Black Bear Group Campground New Mexico

Black Bear Campground is located 2.5 miles south of Cloudcroft off SH 130. Veer left onto FR 24B. Elevation is 8700 feet. Tables, fireplaces, toilets.  Water available at nearby Deerhead campground.
