Guests will enjoy water sports on beautiful 1760 acre Lake
Dorr. Boating, skiing, jet skiing, fishing and swimming are
some of the more popular activities at the cabin. A private
boat ramp and 95 foot fishing/boat dock provide easy access for
fishing. It is totally handicap accessible including the
dock. Three canoes furnished with paddles and life vests are
provided for guests.
If you’re looking for a more passive activity, you can enjoy
nature by simply relaxing on the screened porch overlooking Lake
Dorr or walking in the woods surrounding the area. Lake Dorr
Cabin is not only private and secluded but it can accommodate a
maximum of 10 people. There are two bedrooms with an accessible
bathroom and shower. The living room has two hide-a-bed
couches. The kitchen is modern and newly restored. Basic
kitchen items for preparation of meals are provided, including
microwave and coffee pot. You will need to bring your own
pillows, pillowcases and sheets. There is also an area set
aside for two tents. No pets are allowed inside or outside the
cabin.
World famous Silver Springs tourist attractions are
approximately 45 minutes away from the cabin. Disney
World, MGM Studios, Sea World, Universal Studios and other
Orlando attractions are approximately 60 – 90 minutes drive from
the cabin.
The Lake Dorr
Cabin rental reservations are awarded through an annual computerized lottery
selection process. The lottery is open from January 1st through May
31st each year. To enter you must send in a letter with a self addressed stamped
envelope and list the three choice weeks you desire to rent the cabin. Weeks run
from Friday to Friday. Lake Dorr is closed the second week of April and second
week of October for maintenance. Only one entry per household.
